According to the Mayo Clinic, the size of food portions - and the number of overweight Americans - keeps growing. You know you have to educate yourself on what a healthy portion size is, but unfortunately that is easier said than done!

Most cookies, muffins, bagels and other bakery items have more than doubled in size and calories.
A soda has grown from 6.5 ounces to 20 and up. In fact, you can now buy a 64 ounce fountain drink at most convenience markets.
An individual bag of potato chips has grown from 1 ounce to as much as 3.5 ounces.
Restaurants now serve hamburgers with more than a day's worth of meat servings, pizzas containing a pound of cheese, and all you can eat pasta/sauce dishes.
